You're Cruising for a Bruising(Leo/Tobi) « Thread Started on Mar 11, 2012, 4:15am »
Nearly a week had gone by since the Romanian troops had overrun the Volturi's headquarters and sent them running for their lives, and yet Razvan couldn't seem to relish in the accomplishment. Though he'd done his part as far as the fighting was concerned, and fought damn well in his opinion, the fact that Leo had gotten the head guard position was pissing him off above all else. Damn bastard's only been around for two years, he noted mentally as he angrily paced the hallway near his 'quarters'. The room assignments hadn't been given out yet and, as a result, all the guards were on the main floor right now. How the hell is it that he manages to get promoted above me, when I've been a willing servant to the cause for 30 years? Utter and complete bullshit is how. That spot should have been mine.
Growing angrier by the minute, Raz knew that he seriously needed to release some of his pent-up frustration before he ended up killing someone. It was never good for anyone to stuff their emotions but, when it came to him doing it, people tended to lose body parts if they were around when he finally exploded. Hell, the last guard who'd gotten just the slightest bit too close had lost his head until he managed to reattach it. Luckily the brothers weren't too hard on me for that one. Somehow though, I don't think they'll be as lenient should it happen again. Turning around in a flash, he extended his arm so quickly that the motion was a blur. As his fist connected with the stone wall making up the sides of the corridor, it actually surprised him that his fist seemed to cut through the hard rock like a knife through butter.
As a cloud of dust and rock fragments flew up around the center of impact, Razvan grinned maliciously at the thought of the wall being Leo's head. "God how I wish that I could just beat the living shit out of him," he muttered as he withdrew his fist from the newly created hole in the wall. "To finally put him in his place sounds pretty nice right about now. Lord knows he already thinks that he's better than everyone else and now he's got bragging rights to 'prove it'? Well both he and his ego can both kiss my ass." Hearing footsteps coming up the far bend in the hallway, Raz turned in the general direction to as to see whoever was approaching the moment that they turned the corner. "Who's there?" he asked in a low growl, his tone making it clear that he was not in the mood for any kind of company one bit. "I'd suggest you either name or show yourself before I rip your head off."

The words Leo and good mood didnt seem compatible in the same sentence. Any single Romanian could have told you that, even the ones he was fond of. And yet, in the days leading up to the attack, he had been filled with energy and determination making sure every last thing was organized and nothing would go awry. He had spent countless hours going over the research that the Romanians had on their overconfident enemies, helping Stefan and Vladimir plan out who would attack where, and educating his fellow coven members whether they appreciated it or not about any Volturi members that they had any information on. They had to know their opponents to have any chance at destroying them.
However, it was true that the Romanians hadnt enjoyed the flawless victory that they had hoped and planned for. Prominent Volturi members had escaped, though countless vampires had died that night (this time not to join the ranks of immortals), and many powerful guard members that were to be killed by a well-placed bomb had merely been shaken up. But they were in hiding. They were on the run. All the Romanians had to do was track down the stragglers and kill them before they rejoined the larger group and wipe out said larger group at the first chance they got.
They didnt need the element of surprise anymore; they had power on their side. And now they even had children of the moon on their side.
In some ways, Leo was almost giddy. It was disconcerting to some of his coven mates, though he seemed oblivious himself. But then again, Leo honestly didnt care what his fellow Romanians thought of him. Even if that might have been a little hypocritical, considering he didnt hesitate to voice his opinions of them.
Some of the more outspoken Romanians acted the same way, but it was rather easy to ignore them when they werent destroying cement walls as Leo walked through the hallway. He was quite a ways down the twisting corridor when he heard the commotion ahead of him. However, there was a slight breeze because of the way the ventilation was set up, and Leo could quickly tell that there were no unfamiliar vampires and especially no Volturi near him in Rocca Nova. Instead, it was merely Razvan. He should have known. Of course that muscle head would be the one to destroy a portion of elegant Italian architecture.
Leo didnt hurry, but he didnt change direction in the slightest he merely sauntered down the hallway (listening to Razvan mutter and rant, though he couldnt quite pick out all of it, even with his enhanced hearing) until he neared the last turn that would bring them within sight of each other. By that time, Razvan had realized he wasnt alone in the great depths of Rocca Nova, and barked out a command for Leo to show himself.
The Italian was nearly laughing to himself as he rounded the corner, his entire expression expectant and skeptical. I would love to see you try, stronzo.

It was clear to anyone with a pair of eyes that Raz was in no mood to joke or mess around. The firm set of his jaw and the rage in his eyes, not to mention the scowl on his face, made it quite obvious that he was in one of his foulest moods as an immortal too date. Though he'd been quite the prick when angry as a human, he'd never have been able to even begin to fathom the intense hatred that he was currently experiencing. Along with all the positive things that had come with being turned, there were definitely the negatives as well. Unfortunately for him, being in an almost constant bad mood was one of them.
Stupid freaking anger problems, he said silently, wondering how he would have turned out had he been one of those happy-go-lucky guys as a mortal. Probably would've been freakishly dull with a ton of friends. Maybe being an angry son-of-a-bitch wasn't such a bad thing after all. Hell, it's certainly made me or interesting and I'm perfectly okay with being alone so it works. Forced out of his silent reverie by the sound of approaching footsteps, his eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out just who was coming. Unable to tell by the audible noises alone, he let out a warning comment what wasn't polite in the slightest. After all, why the need to be nice when he had nothing to fear.
However, Razvan immediately went on the defensive the very moment he caught the approaching vampire's scent as it wafted out of the overhead vent. Leo, he thought with a mental snarl. Come to throw his newly given title in my face? I haven't really seen him since he was awarded it so i have a feeling that he's going to want to tell me 'all about it'. Biting back the low hiss that was desperately seeking release from inside the pit of his stomach as he knew that it would only make things even more tense between the two of them, Raz forced himself out of the lower stance he'd taken out of precaution only a couple seconds before.
Though he would never admit it to anyone, not even liking to admit it to himself, Raz was both intrigued and a little wary of fighting Leo. The other vampire had been trained in so many different forms of fighting that he usually was able to focus his attacks based on what would be the most effective move for taking enemies down. It was for that reason, and that reason alone, that he even tolerated the other immortal's presence around him. He had no intention of letting Leo know that he felt the need to be wary when in the other immortal's presence, no matter what the risks of being arrogant might include. He'd never been one to do well with authority and this was no exception in that department.
Pulling his lips back slightly to show his perfect gleaming white teeth, Razvan allowed a low growl to escape his throat as he heard Leo's comment towards him. The two had never really been on friendly terms and the fact that Leo'd gotten the promotion he'd been striving for had only served to but a bigger block up on the road to a slim possibility of them ever being friends. "Try?" he sneered back, voicing the single word as an entire question rather than a simple statement. "You should know by now that there is no such word in my vocabulary. I've never tried in my life; only succeeded. You might have a go at that yourself sometime, as it might do you some good in the future."

Whatever Razvan might have against the title Leo now possessed, little had changed with it. Leo would still greet him with that demeaning grin and sarcastic tone and would have still seen him as a powerhouse muscle-head that was only an asset to the Romanians because they needed loyal members and brute force. He was kindof like a bull dog. Actually, he was a lot like a bull dog. And that thought made Leos grin grow wider on his self-assured features.
Now, while Razvan certainly had him beat on strength, the Italian vampire would never admit to being less than anyone else, and his extensive travels around the world helped with that. After the deaths of his coven mates, he had spent every second he could learning new ways to take down the Volturi; it was amazing how many different fighting styles could be used to tear someone apart.
He shrugged off Razvans irate comment, finding it much easier to verbally spar like this when he didnt let himself get actually angry over any of it (unlike his poor fellow Romanian was doing right this minute). Of course, he doubted anything Razvan did would actually make him angry in the first place. The man wasnt one for stinging insults, and Maggie had found out that the wall he built up around himself was impregnable. It was easy to do when you only cared about such a simple thing as revenge.
I think Ive been doing quite well in the past and present; what reason do I have to change anything? he asked. His dark eyebrows rose quizzically and he chuckled, shaking his head. Tell me, how has it worked out for you? He crossed his arms lightly over his chest, watching his fellow Romanian without the slightest bit of intimidation or authority as far as Leo was concerned, he didnt need to act higher than the other vampire, he already was higher than him and that should be obvious. Razvan was merely a little bit of help toward his own goals: destroying the Volturi.
As long as the weakest remnant of their forces remained, so would Leos thirst for revenge and his own drive for the power to obliterate them. Little else mattered.

After realizing that getting angry would really do him no good in a situation such as this one, as he usually reserved the rage he harbored for fights and the like, Razvan took a moment to mentally calm himself. He'd learned rather early on that any type of emotion usually served to make his mind blur slightly from the intensity and, as a result, tried to keep his humanity locked away for encounters like this. The fact that it was Leo only made him more determined to do so as the other immortal why quite talented with words and he had no intention of being bested by the block-headed vampire who he was now supposed to 'respect.' Mentally cringing at the thought of being even the slightest bit polite towards the other male, his lips pulled back in a visible smirk as thoughts flitted through his head.
As if, he thought with a mental sneer, taking care to keep his eyes trained on Leo just in case the other vampire might decide to try something. He can hope all he wants but, as far as I'm concerned, respect is something that one has to earn and Leo hasn't done a single thing I can think of to make him worthy in my book. Besides, even if he had I'd probably never let him know. I tend not to waste my time with complete pricks and Leo's ego is large enough already without my helping to inflate it even further. Though the last mental comment was more of an observation than anything else, as he'd never really spent enough time around the other immortal to have a good idea of his entire personality, he didn't really care to either. For that reason, and several others unsaid, initial judgements were perfectly okay in his eyes.
Razvan had to force himself not to let out a snarl, however, at Leo's snide remark. For some reason, the other male had always been able to get under his skin fairly easily and that was one of the few things that he hated above all else. The ability to be angered so easily is nothing but a weakness, he added silently, one that I will make sure to work on in the future. Still, it doesn't help that he seems to know every single one of my rage triggers. Hmm...perhaps I need to evaluate myself at some point and see if I can't fix that little issue. After all, I have no intention of letting Leo piss me off for the rest of eternity and, once I learn to keep my cool, he shouldn't be able to. At least, not that he'll be able to tell anyways.
After making a mental note to think about the source behind his anger at a later time, he refocused his attention back on Leo and their little 'conversation' before offering the other immortal a malicious grin that was as cold as ice. "If you say so," he replied with an emotionless tone, "although the fact that you chose to stop at merely 'quite well' is a bit pathetic. Why not strive to be the best instead of settling for something less than that? Still, I have no argument in favor of you changing things if it means that you'll still remain less than the best." Allowing a dark chuckle to escape his lips at Leo's inane question, Raz gestured to the ornate hallway in which they were standing. "Hell, I think it's worked pretty damn well. After all, Volterra is now ours and there's nothing the pathetic Volturi can do about it. That's a pretty large success if you ask me." His calculating and carefree demeanor had returned and now he only prayed it would stick around.

Leos ego certainly was quite large he would admit to that. However, it wasnt as obvious as one would think. The vampire merely thought that he was better than all of those around him. Even those who might be able to best him in a fight, even those who he gave faux loyalty and respect to. They were all a peg lower than him on the only ladder that truly mattered. Leo was the best that there could be, simply because he was. He didnt need any reasons or any explanations. He had felt that was for as long as he could remember, but he knew it was only really prominent after he had joined up with the Romanians. That was when he had had to play off his emotions (or lack thereof) against his fellow coven members. He could piss them off, toy with them, and frankly do whatever the hell he wanted, as long as he was loyal to the cause, Stefan and Vladimir didnt seem to care.
Now that he had an official rank backing him, well, that was all only doubly true. And Razvans barely-contained (and not at all hidden) hatred for him only amused him all the more. Besides, what was wrong with egging him on and having a bit more fun while they looked for the scattered and battered Volturi?
Oh, but Razvan, I am the best, which is exactly why I dont need to try anymore. With my power and my fighting skill combined, Im far more useful to the Romanian cause than you ever will be. A fighter you may be, but thats it. To be truly great, you have to know both sides of the spectrum. Leos grin widened and his voice had by now turned completely taunting and on the edge of a laugh. Theres more to greatness than brute force, dear boy. You need finesse, and actual skill. Neither of which you seem to possess.
Leo shrugged, everything about him screaming that he didnt have a care in the world, that everything was going exactly how he wanted it to and he hardly needed to lift a finger. Especially against Razvan and his jealousy because that was what it really was, and the thought entertained the Italian vampire to no end. No matter how much Razvan tried to change that, Leo would always be on top. That was simply how it was meant to be.
Unless you count slamming your fist into a wall as finesse, he tacked on with a careless shrug.

As much as he hated Leo's arrogance with an unsurpassed passion, of that he was positive, Razvan knew that he probably possessed an ego that was just as large. Despite the fact that his trainer had drugged him in order to make him lose that wrestling match back when he'd still been human in order to teach him a lesson in humility, the event had only served to make him angrier and more determined than ever before. That whole situation was the spark that had led him to where he was today; celebrating a victory with the Romanians that none had ever been able to accomplish before and most likely never would have again. That feeling alone was more than enough to keep him content, for the most part anyways. Still, Leo had always seemed to bring out the worst in him and he'd begun to wonder over the years if that was a result of the fact that they were more alike than he could ever admit to himself or anyone else.
Hell no! his brain screamed silently, cursing at the simple fact that such a thought had even dared to cross his mind. There's no way that I could ever be anything like that damn bastard. Sure, we're both confident pricks but I know for a fact that I could never be as big a dick as he is and that's all there is to it! However, the fact that he had angered so quickly at just a flitting thought only served to unnerve him that much more. He'd never considered himself vain, or even really arrogant for that matter, but simply a confident immortal who knew exactly what he wanted. Was that really all that bad? He desperately wanted to believe that it wasn't but seeing Leo made him wonder if he could be wrong. After all, the world would freeze over before he'd let himself become anything like Leo and that was just a cold hard fact.
Raz couldn't help but scoff and roll his eyes, however, when he heard the other vampire's response to his earlier comment. He'd figured that Leo would say something of that general nature and so he'd been able to somewhat prepare for the evident sneer in his words. Still, he could feel his anger level rising once more as a need to shoot back some sarcastic remark rose up from within him. He was determined not to let himself get out of control once again though, and so he forced himself to swallow his pride for once and actually focus on coming up with a decent response so not to seem like a total idiot. He seemed to grow angrier by the second, however, as Leo seemed to just drone on in the same boring egotistical tone that he used with everyone except Tobi. Still, Razvan knew that there was something more going on between the two immortals but figured that discussion was for a whole another time.
He couldn't help but be quite proud though, when the light bulb went off over his head as a seemingly fool-proof idea flitted through his mind. While he'd always been slightly nervous about the idea of sparring with Leo, as he actually wasn't sure he could beat the other immortal, he knew that he needed to do it at some point and now was as good as time as any. I can do this, he added mentally, knowing from experience that confidence was the key when it came to fighting. This will be as easy as feeding if I have anything to do about it."Alright then," he said after a long moment, a cruel smirk coming to rest on his lips. "You wanna prove once and for all that I'm better than you? Fine! Let's do this right here and right now. Fists against fists, period." Having laid his offer out on the table, Raz relaxed back against the coolness of the wall as he waited for Leo's response. He had a feeling that the other immortal wouldn't be able to resist the temptation of a good fight and he was all too ready to get on with it.

A skeptic look slipped over Leos face as Razvan finally spoke up again looking entirely too pleased with himself and whatever he had come up with as a reply. Poor thing, he must have been overworking his brain to think of something worthy of a witty battle of words with the Italian vampire, and he would fall short yet again. Not that it was his lack of skill, necessarily. Many had tried to dig under Leos skin, and every single one of them had failed. If he was completely honest with himself, that wall he had built up decades ago did have one weakness, but the secret of that tender spot was hidden from all but the mind readers. Leo himself kept from thinking about it except for in the most emotional times which were a rarity in and of themselves. It was easy to forget, though, to compartmentalize and live as if a life of hunting the Volturi was all he had ever known.
It was all anyone else would ever know of him, that was for sure.
Leo grinned, everything about his expression and stance and his voice when he finally replied portraying complete ease and confidence. He was unmoved by Razvans challenge, even though he wouldnt begrudge him his strength. Razvan was a fighter through and through, and what little Leo knew of his life before the Romanians supported that fact. But he was about as intimidating to Leos ego as a drop of rain was to the ocean.
Touchy, touchy, Razvan, he chided, that grin slipping even wider. But if youre so set on wounding your own pride, I wont stop you. He shrugged, exaggerating the motion. Fist to fist, as you say. And then, without another word, or even another look, Leo swung. It wasnt a very prepared or planned out move, but if Razvan had the slightest lapse in attention, it should hit him squarely in the jaw. And then their fight would be unstoppable until one of the two overly-proud men admitted defeat. Hopefully they didnt destroy this section of Rocca Nova in the process. Who knows what Stefan and Vladimir would say about that but, as Leo could truthfully say, Razvan had set the whole thing in motion.
Re: You're Cruising for a Bruising(Leo) « Reply #8 on Apr 25, 2012, 1:54am »
Despite the fact that it might have taken him a moment to figure out the proper way to settle this 'little' dispute between Leo and himself, Razvan was perfectly confident in the solution that he'd come up with. Having never lost a fight in his 30 years of serving the Romanians, his ego was more than most would even consider possible for someone of his age; possibly even matching that of the very immortal he was now arguing with. Granted, he hadn't actually had the opportunity to face a highly seasoned fighter yet but, should he ever get that chance, he had no doubts whatsoever that he'd dismember them as easily as he had all the others who'd been on bad terms with the Romanians. Stefan and Vlad depend on me, he thought to himself with pride, and there's no way that I would ever let them down. Hell, I'd die before that happened.
Still, Raz had to admit that there could really only be one top dog around here as far as the guards were concerned. Though he was forced to accept the fact that the Romanian leaders had believed that Leo was a better fit, he neither respected their decision nor respected Leo himself. After all, he'd been in their service for far longer and had quite a bit more experience in leading that the other vampire did and yet he'd apparently been skipped over in the consideration for the position. There was no way that they wouldn't have chosen him if his name had been brought up and so that was really the only option. Perhaps I should casually mention it at some point, he thought to himself. Then they would see the error of their ways.
Of course, he wasn't so stupid as to do something like that. Razvan knew better than to question the decisions of his leaders and so, for now, he was forced to simply deal with it in the best way he could manage. Unfortunately, his way of managing could end up destroying quite a bit of history should he actually be able to achieve his newest mission; getting Leo to throw the first punch so that he could beat the living shit out of the other immortal. Obviously, it wasn't the best way to get things done but it would help to relieve some of his pent-up frustration and that was as good a reason as any for him to do it; though he knew for a fact that Stefan and Vlad wouldn't see it that way. Still, they'd wanted him enough to come to him when he had still been human so he liked to think that he was worth something to the Romanians' agenda at the very least.
Much preferring to focus on Leo right now, Raz withdrew his attention from the depths of his mind before returning it to the current situation just in time to hear his seemingly confident response as well as watch his smug grin only grow wider. Too bad it won't be there for much longer. At least, not once I'm finished with him it won't be. After all, he had no intention of losing to anyone, much less the very immortal he despised above all others. it was because of that that he'd already tensed in preparation of the seemingly imminent fight hanging in the air between them. Even with that though, he was only barely able to dodge the sudden, effortless punch that Leo threw his way. Watching as his fist crashed into the wall where his head had been less than a second earlier, he simply laughed darkly before lowering himself into a defensive crouch; not stupid enough to leave himself open. "Oh well aren't we anxious to throw a punch," was all he said before extending his own arm in a blur before it managed to connect with Leo's gut in one shot; confirming the hit with an echoing thud that would let anyone in the area know exactly what was going on. "I suggest you guard yourself a little better," he sneered at Leo as he took a measured step backwards, "or else this fight will end before it's even started."

[Short and bleh post, but it's a fight post and I wasn't sure what to do xD]
Alright, so maybe Leo wasnt taking this whole little brawl with Razvan seriously. He doubted that the other Romanian would carry this over into a full out fight although, considering who he was dealing with, it wouldnt have been a surprise and so his own punch held little effort and the certainty that it would land. When it didnt, he shook the stone dust from his hand and turned his eyes toward where his opponent had dodged, a half-amused expression flitting across his face. Just humoring you, he answered lightly, voice and expression as careless as his punch. Razvan wasnt worth the effort of getting himself worked up, not unless an actual fight sprung up between them.
Of course, with the muscle-brains fist in his gut a moment later that was exactly what had been set in motion. Not that Leo was going to complain. But he didnt waste time answering the other vampires jeer, instead reaching for the retreating arm that he had reflexively bent over, and yanked it to one side with an iron grip on Razvans wrist. Effectively tossing him to one side (though not very far they didnt have too much space in this small hallway and if Razvan didnt stop himself, the wall would), Leo followed through with a simple roundhouse kick that could easily catch the prideful vampire in the side and finish toppling him if he had somehow maintained his balance.
And with that, Leo moved back for a moment, trying to stay out of any sweeping moves Razvan could attempt to make from his lower stance, flipping through his battle experience and fighting knowledge for the best move to do the most damage without actually threatening Razvans life. After all, whatever resentment and hatred there might have been between the two, they were both valuable assets to the Romanian force. No one could argue otherwise. Razvan simply needed to be put in his place professional fighter or not and that was all Leo was going to do.
Re: You're Cruising for a Bruising(Leo) « Reply #10 on Jun 6, 2012, 5:21pm »
To be honest, the showdown between himself and Leo was something that Razvan had been looking forward to for quite a while. Ever since he had learned that the immortal douche bag had been named the new Romanian head guard, this very moment had been moved right up to the top of his to-do list. Still, he'd never thought that the exact situation unfolding before him would ever actually play out. After all, both he and Leo shared an intense hatred for one another; everybody who was anybody was already well aware of that fact. Perhaps that was one of the reasons that people tended to steer clear of them whenever they were even in the same vicinity as one another. "Oh sure you were. What, trying to blow me off yet again? Why not get this over and done with? We both know who's going to win this and it certainly isn't going to be you."
With the first punch that Leo had tossed his way, Raz easily dodged it before lowering himself into an appropriate fighting position. It was pure luck that Raz had managed to dodge Leo's throw. He had though, and now it was on. The match of a century, between the two of them, was finally happening. This was what he'd been dreaming of for weeks and there was no way that he was going to let it pass him by now that he had his chance. Finally time to show Mr. Dick who's the real champ around here, he thought to himself as he instantly noticed the opening in his opponent's stance. Let's get this show on the road already. No point in dallying now when this lesson is long overdue. Besides, it might be good to teach the bastard a sense of humility.
Not caring if he left himself open with the move he was considering, Razvan lashed out with his better arm faster than ever before. The momentum behind the punch was insane as every bit of hatred and anger he possessed was behind the throw as it landed with an audible 'thud' in the center of Leo's stomach. What he hadn't considered, however, was the speed with which the other immortal would recover and toss a counter-attack back his way. It was a simple misjudgment really, but one that he couldn't afford to make in this fight. Raz was all too well aware how evenly matched he and Leo were, and how quickly the battle could switch from one's favor to the other's. Still, as he felt the other vampire's hand close around his wrist, he could do nothing but curse mentally as he had an idea of what was about to happen next; albeit the fact that he could do nothing about it.
Damn it, he though to himself as his feet couldn't find enough purchase to make him stop before he felt himself crash into the stone hallway. Being a vampire, it didn't do more than daze him for a split second. More than anything, he was more pissed off now than anything else; that, and he was determined not to underestimate Leo again. This time it was easy to gauge the other vampire's attack timing though, and so it wasn't at all hard to escape the kick that had been aimed at the center of his side. Despite the fact that he offered Leo a dark grin that might have been taken lightly by anyone who didn't know him, the fire blazing behind Raz's crimson irises made it clearer and ever that this battle of strength was far from over.
"Oh, are we tired already?" he asked sarcastically, watching as Leo decided to move back a bit. "Because, if you want to back out, I'll be more than happy to accept your surrender after I finish kicking your ass." Though his words came out sounding cool and unaffected, it was merely a ploy as he had been slowly moving towards the other male. Without another word, he dropped to his ground as his foot extended into a low kick-spin that would remove Leo's feet from underneath him if he didn't catch himself in time. Of course, Razvan knew that was a possibility better than anyone and so he had already put his second move into motion. Flitting forward, he jabbed his right arm upward in a strong uppercut that would catch Leo on the underside of his chin had he managed to remain standing.
Not wanting to risk being caught in a counter-attack once again, it was Raz who took a step back this time. After all, there was no point in sticking his neck out for nothing when he knew that the other immortal would be able to hit him should he move even a centimeter into Leo's attack range. This was a fight containing both brains and brawn, both of which he would have to use if he wanted to win. "Had enough yet? I mean, I always knew that you were cocky but this? This is just pathetic. You really better get your game face on if you even want to stand a chance against me. This isn't a joke as far as I'm concerned, and it shouldn't be for you. Not unless you have a dismemberment fetish that no one knows about." Sneering at that last part, he could do nothing but smirk as he prepared himself for the retaliation he knew was inevitable.

Oh, so it really was serious. Excuse Leo for thinking his coven mate was merely bluffing and trying to add to the tension between the two Romanians. Maybe rough each other up a little, that kind of thing. After all, they were on the same side they each had sworn an oath in front of Aaron, and they had both been willingly recruited. Their rivalry didnt change that in the slightest, and whatever Leo may have felt toward Razvan, his distaste and disdain for the muscle-head was tempered by the fact that Razvan could certainly be useful when he was needed. It was very easy to forget about him and pass him off when Leo wasnt dealing with business matters among the Romanians. Apparently the reverse wasnt all that true, what with effort Razvan was putting into this fight.
Honestly, it was a little childish. But Leo wasnt about to back down when he was completely confident in his own skills, even against the renowned fighter. Leo had a few years on Razvan, and a wider variety of fighting skill, whereas his opponent had the experience of the Romanian boxing ring, or whatever it was. Brute force versus trained skill; lets see which one will actually win.
Tired? I thought we were just warming up. You should really let me know when youre going to get serious about this. His voice was rather upbeat, chipper even, compared to Razvans flat and toneless sneer, and his lips had curled up into something that resembled both an entertained grin and the bared teeth of a feral animal at the same time. Thats really what vampires were after all: feral. They hid behind their rules of society and organizations, but they were hunters who would do anything to capture their prey. They were built to be deadly, to never really fit in, to be indestructible, except against each other. And however much they trained themselves and worked to perfect their abilities and fighting skills, there was something uncontained and uncontrollable when they let loose.
That was what it meant to be a vampire, and that was something Leo had never had a problem with.
Razvan dropped down, foot swinging out to knock Leos own out from under him, and the vampire made to avoid the move just a millisecond too slow. Or even less than that. A yoctosecond? That was more plausible, considering the speed at which both vampires could and did move. Anyway, as it was, Razvans kick caught the edge of Leos foot just enough to upset the head guards balance. But, while Razvan may have thought otherwise, that actually only helped Leo in the end. Because he had just moved to catch himself and retain his footing, he saw Razvans body shift to lead into his next attack. Reacting on instinct (as opposed to Tobias, who would have had to calculate the angle of the attack, the speed of Razvans fist, the vampires momentum, and all of that), Leo let himself be swept down and below Razvans fist, in something similar to a bridge position as he caught himself with his hands.
Razvan was retreating as Leo went quickly on the offensive determined to not let his opponent pull himself too far out of his attack range. This wouldnt be a turn-by-turn kind of fight; neither Leo nor Razvan would have time to back away and calculate their moves. That wasnt how a real fight worked. You pushed and pushed and pushed, not giving your opponent a second to breathe and figure out how to get back at you. If Razvan wanted a true test of his skills against Leos, he had to be prepared for the kind of non-stop fight that either of them would get into around a Volturi guard who was fighting for their very life. Anything less would insult the both of them.
Leo twisted his torso, swinging forward and toward Razvan in a way that could only be described as graceful, his hands instead placing themselves side-by-side like someone moving into a cartwheel of sorts, and Leos feet followed suit except, as his feet kicked up and over, they were supposed to catch Razvans head or neck between them and pull the other fighter hard to the ground (or at least slam him upside the head with enough force to daze the vampire, and possibly unbalance him). Leo then used his momentum to continue outside of Razvans immediate range of attack as he turned on his opponent and lowered into a more defensive position, knowing a counter-attack was likely already on its way.
Oh, that would be nothing compared to what Jamiri tells of your preferences in bed. Shes got quite the loud mouth, you know. The banter came easily, even as Leo focused all of his attention on the fighting between the two of them. It was natural, amusing, and only enhanced the sense of victory if a vocal barb could draw blood here or there too.

When the whole confrontation had first been approached by the two immortals, Razvan hadn't really thought that anything would come of it. Perhaps a couple heated insults tossed back and forth but that was about the extent of it; as far as he was concerned anyways. After all, both of the young men knew all too well that they needed to work with one another on a daily basis. With the Volturi now out of their way, there was far too much that needed to be done for them to waste their time bickering at one another day in and day out. It was only because of this bit of fact that he hadn't thrown a punch. No matter how badly he wanted to prove his worth and beat the living crap out of the egotistical immortal before him, the needs of the Coven came before his personal ones.
Of course, everything had changed the minute Leo chose to throw a punch. From Raz's perspective, having been taught to think like a fighter ever since his years as a human child, that single move had meant that the battle was on. No longer caring what kind of trouble they might get into at this point, his mindset had shifted into fight mode with that single gesture. Now, Leo was nothing more than another opponent; one that was going to get his ass kicked as far as he was concerned. This was no longer a semi-friendly rivalry between Coven mates. No, this had become a war between fighting opponents; one that wouldn't end until a clear winner was named. Unfortunately, the fact that the two were so damn prideful meant the chances of a surrender were slim from the start. Not exactly a good thing in this situation.
The funny thing, however, was that there was not even of hint of worry in the bulkier immortal's features. Having been taught from an early age to lock away all emotions when in the heat of battle, Razvan took care to keep any doubts of losing(which were practically non-existent) from showing on his features. Of course, he really couldn't help himself when he heard Leo's response to his earlier statement. Allowing a malicious grin to tug the corner of his lips up into an expression one might often relate to a criminally insane person, he couldn't help but allow a rather sadistic chuckle to slip from his lips with ease. "Of course you did," he replied with a sneer, not caring about anything more than the vampire before him at that moment, although I must say that your skills are beyond rusty. After all, warm-ups are supposed to be at least a little challenging. At this rate, I'll be kicking your ass with my eyes closed from utter boredom so I suggest you at least try your best, you know? Not that it's going to matter...but still. I would like a decent show if you can manage it."
Not bothering with a warning on his next attack, treating their fight as if it was to the death, Razvan dropped into a low kick-spin so fast that it would be nothing more than a blur to anyone but another immortal. His grin widened immensely as he felt his own foot connect with Leo's own. What he hadn't considered, however, was the speed at which his opponent would be able to recover from the sweeping blow. It wasn't until he had already transitioned into the second part of his attack and was extending his arm that he realized his punch was going to be off by a few measly centimeters. Cursing mentally, he followed through with the movement anyway to avoid upsetting his own rhythm. Still, the small part of a second that he left himself open was obviously more than enough time for the other vampire to adjust and launch into his own counterattack. It wasn't something that he'd thought of sooner, and so the thought was already flitting through his mind to not underestimate Leo again. He's a bit faster than I expected is all, he thought to himself as he moved to retreat into the defensive, a mistake I'll be sure to not repeat.
Unfortunately, his momentary lapse of attention did put him in a rather bad predicament. Not catching Leo's sudden movement soon enough, Raz only tuned back into the battle with just enough time to react. It was obvious that he would be able to escape the odd move unscathed, however, and so he allowed instinct to take over momentarily as his body quickly shifted into a side-stance. It was only in that position that he was able to keep his head safe from the unbelievable speed and power of Leo's lower limbs. Instead, he was forced to one knee as the brunt of the blow fell upon his left shoulder, the very one that had been shattered in the fight he'd lost as a human. His mind suddenly flooded by murky memories of that day, Razvan felt his rage intensify several times over as this moved far beyond that of a normal practice session. For him, Leo was a target that needed to be broken; nothing more or less.
Not bothering to even stop and think, as it was quite apparent that his opponent was using that strategy as well, he turned to find Leo just out of his extended range. Catching the words as they left the other immortal's lips, he didn't even pause to listen; hoping that he might surprise the other vampire if he refused to stop for even a sly retort. Instead, he launched himself up into the air in a high jump that appeared as though he had overshot his mark by roughly 3 feet; had his target been Leo of course. But no, Raz's aim was the stone wall just beyond the immortal; something he had a feeling his opponent wouldn't expect in a million years. After all, he highly doubted Leo had ever fought in a ring before which would give him the advantage of his next move. The height of his leap put him just out of Leo's reach though, and so he shifted into a horizontal position with seemingly no issue at all.
As his feet touched the wall, Razvan allowed his knees to bend ever so slightly before pushing him away and into a slightly downward angle. If Leo wasn't able to anticipate his attack and time his response on the dot, his hands would latch onto the other immortal's upper arm before dragging him through the air as he completed a mid-air back-flip; the move finishing with poor Leo on his back at Raz's feet. Any late movement would still have his opponent's head spinning as a solid kick to the skull would surely jostle the brains a bit. It was one of the few fighting tricks his father had shared with him as a human, only modified a bit to better suit his speed and power now that he was a vampire. Scurrying backward immediately, he was now the one grinning sadistically. "Well at least my distractions aren't afraid to admit who they've been with," he finally shot back, his eyes wary in case Leo might try and attempt something similar to what he'd done only moments before. "You must be horrible seeing as Tobias doesn't even like to bring you up in conversations these days. Admit it....you've been having just a tad too much fun with the kid, haven't you?" Pressing buttons had always been one of Razvan's specialties, and the opportunity to trade both verbal and physical blows at the same time was far too good to pass up.
(Please tell me you understood his move >.< If not, I can try to find a video that shows something similar to what I was attempting to describe xD)

There is this technique well, its not a technique entirely, more like a rule of thumb that sled dog mushers followed. You cannot ever have two alpha dogs on your sled team. Whatever the musher may try to do to separate them, or attempt to get to them to work together, the fight for dominance is always more important than the task at hand. The dissention could even spread through the rest of the ranks, turning the team against one another, causing useless fights to occur and ruining the entire in-sync dynamic. If you made the mistake of having two such alpha dogs on your sled team, you were left with one last option: let them fight it out. Hopefully they wouldnt end up killing each other, but in the extremes that these dogs lived at, its survival of the fittest.
Stefan and Vladimir could learn a thing or two if they paid attention to such logic. Instead, it was playing out right under their noses and destroying a good portion of the walls on the ancient Volturi hall. At least Leo and Razvan had apparently chosen the lower hall for their clash; God forbid what would have happened had they ruined the great detail and architecture that made up the halls that had once belonged to Aro and Caius and Marcus.
Leo ducked down beneath Razvans leap, even as he noticed that the other vampire was purposefully overshooting him anyway. Quickly the Italian vampire whirled to watch his opponent, mentally flipping through attacks and techniques that Razvan might know or use, and that Leo could use to counter what his opponent was doing. By the time the Romanian wrestler was launching himself off of the wall and down toward Leo with a look in his eye reminiscent of a swooping hawk, Leo was dropping as well. It was easier to duck the move than to leap to one side or the other, and it gave Razvan less of a chance to actually grab ahold of him. Of course like Razvan with the last move he was the slightest bit slower than he should have been (the two of them were far too evenly matched) and one of Razvans feet caught the corner of his head, jerking him to one side, but not quite where Razvan had initially planned.
Oh no, Leo was certainly not falling flat on his back without the chance to react, with Razvan towering over him and taunting him. He stumbled forward, caught himself (unable to cut off the sharp hiss of pain caused by the throbbing in the side of his head now), and was dropping down to swing a roundhouse kick at the level of his opponents knees before Razvan could speak.
It may have been a rather easy to avoid move if Razvan was expecting it but from the way he paused and seemed to assume he was out of range (close, but no cigar), Leo could have caught the other Romanian off guard. That was his plan at the moment, and he let Razvans banter go off without any reaction whatsoever. If he had paused to fully comprehend what Razvan was saying, he might have had just the reaction that was wanted. After all, the man was asexual nowadays if he was anything, and while he couldnt have cared less what his coworkers thought of his sleeping habits, that was not something he would have expected. Tobias? Riiiight. What was Razvan smoking in his spare time?
Instead of answering the other vampire, or giving him time to come up with yet another little interesting jab, Leo swung into closer quarters (whether or not his previous kick had landed, and he hadnt entirely meant for that move to land). For a fraction of a millisecond, the two vampires were face to face, and then there was a pair of forceful punches to the gut, an uppercut to the jaw, and a half side-step where Leo moved to hook the back of one ankle around one of Razvans feet to yank it out from under him that was accompanied by a hand on Razvans shoulder that would lead to a similar pull/flip to what Razvan had just attempted on him.
Leo may not have been trained specifically in ring fighting, but he had close quarters experience. For decades upon decades, he had hunted the world for any knowledge he could use to better himself and help him achieve his goal of tearing down the Volturi. Physical and mental training had been his life day in and day out; the only breaks Leo had taken from such things were after he had joined up with the Romanians and he had to go out on specific scouting or snatching missions. Razvan may have raised to be a fighter, but he didnt have the same kind of drive that Leo had. He hadnt been shaped by revenge and the fury that only a vampire who had had everything taken from them could show the world.
And Razvan was nothing compared to the Volturi guards that Leo had succeeded in laying down in the attack. No, in Leos mind he was little more than an insolent plaything and irritating source of amusement. However big he talked, and whatever power he had, he was no threat. Not even now.
He was just some poor lost little puppy dog that thought he deserved the coveted alpha position. He just needed to be put in his place, and that would be easy.

Vampires weren't supposed to beat the living crap out of another for no reason except to prove which was better than the other, at least that was most would believe when considering the fact that Leo and Razvan were on the same side. Had they been from enemy covens or something similar to that, the situation would have been entirely different. Then, it would have at least made sense for them to feel a need to prove their worth but that wasn't the case here. No, they were both Romanians who had just helped to overthrow their mutual enemy in order to claim the throne for Stefan and Vladimir. Such an unusual victory was one that ought to be celebrated in one way or another and yet they'd chosen instead to engage in a fight that anyone with a brain on their shoulders should have been able to tell wouldn't end well. Granted, the tension between them had been building for a while now. It was only a matter of time before they snapped, allowing all hell to break loose the moment that happened.
As far as Razvan was concerned though, he was safe from any possible consequences that might pop up later when someone happened upon the hallway where their little spat was taking place. After all, Leo had thrown the first punch so he'd really done nothing wrong. Defending oneself from an oncoming attack couldn't be considered wrong, could it? He certainly didn't think so and would argue that point to anyone who chose to raise it. At the moment though, he didn't have time to consider such things. Every ounce of his attention needed to be focused on the prideful battle he now found himself engaged in if he had any hope of winning. While both he and Leo were extremely well-matched(seeing as neither could seem to get ahead), the trained Romanian also knew that the slightest mistake or slip-up could ruin everything and he wasn't about to let that happen; not in a million years. This was the fight that he'd been looking forward to for years and he wasn't about to lose now that it was finally happening. Leo thinks that he's better than me? he questioned silently. Well it's about time I showed him how wrong he really is. He ought to know that you should never underestimate an opponent until you know for sure.
Unwilling to let his thoughts distract him a moment longer, Raz pushed them out of his head as he forced every ounce of his concentration onto the fight. This was one battle for bragging rights that he had no intention of losing. Acting on pure instinct, he launched himself towards the wall just behind Leo without a moment's thought about what damage might occur to the historical walls as a result of his actions. Kicking off with everything he had the moment his knees bent enough to have some force behind them, he angled himself down towards Leo with a deadly fire burning in his eyes as he completed the attack. His opponent was fast enough to dodge the end result that he'd wanted, but Razvan was forced to be content with the sound kick he landed instead right on the side of Leo's head. Smirking as he caught the hiss of pain that escaped the other vampire's lips, he flitted backward the moment he landed to what he'd believed was just out of Leo's range as their fight was moving so quickly now that he had no doubt his opponent was already in movement to attack.
Unfortunately, his judgement had been off by about a centimeter; a fact he only realized the instant before Leo's kick connected with his knees. Of course, it didn't help that he'd been smacking his jaws instead of watching more carefully. Unable to dodge even with his speed as an immortal and heightened reflexes, Razvan did the only thing that he could think of at that moment and jumped. He knew that he wouldn't be able to escape the counterattack completely but the momentum behind his opponent's kick as it connected with the back of his ankles was just enough to push Raz into a backwards somersault. Making a note to keep his trap shut and his head on the game, he landed on the balls of his feet in such a way that anyone who'd seen him might have compared him to a cat just then. However, the time it had taken him to get his feet back on the ground was more than enough time for Leo to move into position for his next attack. Razvan found himself forced to defend his body from the onslaught of moves of punches the other vampire threw his way. Determined not to let his opponent get the upper hand, he figured that the best way right then was to fight fire with fire. After all, he wasn't about to let himself take all the damage.
Not bothering to really keep himself closed off the way that he would have normally done under different circumstances, Raz countered each of Leo's punches with one of his own. Doubling over from the force of the two punches to the center of his gut, he used the position to his advantage with a well placed throw to the center of Leo's kneecap; a move that should have shattered it considering the force behind the punch. Sadly, the fact that he was so intent on inflicting damage to his opponent didn't exactly help him right then as he missed the blur of Leo's fist before it connected with the underside of his jaw. Snarling in pain as his vision blurred momentarily from the contact, a powerful burst of anger and rage suddenly overwhelmed him. It was stronger than any other emotion he'd ever experienced, even more intense than how he'd felt as a human after learning the reason his trainer had drugged him. His vision seemingly tinged red with the force of his emotions, the Romanian didn't hesitate in snapping his knee straight up as fast as he could into Leo's groin. He knew it was a shady move, but it would throw the other vampire off and that was exactly what he needed right then.
There was one thing that he hadn't considered though with such a move, however, and that was the fact that being on only one foot probably wasn't the best idea where close range attacks were being implemented. Still, there was nothing Razvan could do about it right then and so he simply dropped straight down instead of allowing Leo the satisfaction of taking him down himself. Twisting his body in the process, he extended his leg instinctively as he spun around in an attempt to sweep the other Romanian's feet out from under him. Not slowing in his own counterattack, Raz didn't hesitate as he rose back up almost instantly; determined not to remain down when every second counted in a fight such as this one. Ignoring the painful aching of his teeth(a result of the hit he'd taken to the jaw a moment ago) as he clenched them in anger, Razvan wasted no time in throwing a right hook that would catch Leo right along his jawline; either dislocating it or knocking a few teeth lose from the force of the blow. Coupling that move with a left punch to the other vampire's rib cage, it was only then that he realized that they were going to tear one another apart at this rate. Oh well, he thought to himself, he asked for it. Besides, there can only be one winner here and it sure as hell isn't going to be him.
